Gloria J. Porter

Gloria Jean (McCaulley) Porter, 63, of Winston-Salem, NC, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at her home.

The daughter of Vincent Boyd and Betty Grace (Parks) McCaulley, she was born February 14, 1955 in Latrobe, PA.

Gloria was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC.

She graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1973 and worked as a mail carrier for the postal service.

Her family and her pets were the center of her life.

Surviving are her husband, Mason Porter whom she married November 17, 1973; a son, Mason A. (Heather) Porter of Debary, FL and a daughter, Betty Jacquelynn (Richarde) Johnson of Murfreesboro, TN; five grandchildren, Michael G. Johnson, Caitlyn V. Porter, Mason R. Porter, Brianna R. Johnson and Maddux M. Johnson; a brother, Gary (Barbara) McCaulley of Blairsville; three sisters, Cathy Metalla, Annie (Paul) Flowers and Rose (Jake) Lobo, all of Blairsville and her fur babies, Lucy, Amber Jean and Cookie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald “Bumper” McCaulley.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Stanley officiating.

Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
