Doris B. Weaver

Doris Beverly (English) Weaver, 82, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Eli B. and Mary E. (Tyler) English, she was born October 21, 1935 in Rossiter, PA.
Mrs. Weaver was a member of the CrossRoads Community Church, Blairsville, formerly the Free Methodist Church, for over 40 years.  She taught herself to play both the organ and piano and used her talent in the services there and she also sang with the Praise Team.  She spent many years teaching her Sunday school class about her Beloved Savior.
Mrs. Weaver and her husband, Joseph, opened Weaver's House of Herbs, Black Lick in 1988, she worked there until her retirement.
Unwavering in her faith, devoted to her family, she was always willing to listen, teach, and over the years open her home to any family member in need of love and shelter.  Her family was the most important part of her life.
She enjoyed canning, cooking, sewing and loved to do puzzles.  She also liked to collect angels and roosters.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Joseph C. Weaver, Sr. whom she married June 6, 1953; six children, Joseph C. Weaver, Jr. (Patty) of Blairsville; Perry E. Weaver (Doris) of Home; Lori Steffen (Mike) of New Alexandria; Lynn Muck of Export; Valorie Armstrong (Steve) of Spiceland, IN and Jacqueline Huston (Jim) of Latrobe; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Nelda Shields of Gaston, IN; brother-in-law, Bill Dunmire of Punxsutawney; sister-in-law, Marge English of Erie and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant grandsons, an infant great granddaughter, three brothers, Clyde English, Sam English and Eli English Jr., eight sisters, Anna Bell Whidden, Amy English, Audrey Gaston, Hazel Tyger, Lola Gaston, Joyce Dunmire, Ida Lasley and Frances Bishop.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the CrossRoads Community Church, Blairsville, with Pastor Rusty McClurg and Pastor John Sykes co-officiating.
Interment will be in North Point Cemetery, Northpoint, PA.
