Joseph Lysle Kellerman, Jr., 80, of Blairsville, PA went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his home.
The son of Joseph L. Kellerman, Sr. and Sarah (Short) Kellerman, he was born July 18, 1938 in Gray Station, PA.
He was the husband of Barbara L. (Shank) Kellerman whom he married April 14, 2009 in Hillside, PA.
Mr. Kellerman graduated from Derry High School, Class of 1956 and enlisted in the US Air Force in 1957 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also served for two years in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
He worked for Consol Energy for 25 years, retiring in 1999.
Mr. Kellerman was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Homer City, PA.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara L. (Shank) Kellerman; two daughters, Jodi Myers (Gary) of Derry and Dianne Berry (Bill) of Easley, SC; two stepsons, Raymond Alan Grafton (Cathy) of Blairsville and Robert E. Grafton (Mary) of Clarksburg; a stepdaughter, Lori Styers (John) of Homer City; eight grandchildren, Jason Patz, Justin Patz, Michael Hughes, Jason Grafton, Brian Poydence, Lance Styers, Jennifer, Ganister and Melissa Martin; five great grandchildren; two sisters, June Ehman of Blairsville and Donna Patz (Robert) of Blairsville and a brother, James Kellerman (Yvonne) of Blairsville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rosalie (Neal) Kellerman in 2005; infant son, William Joseph Kellerman, twin sister, Joan Patz, sister, Sarah Curtis, brother, David Kellerman and a stepdaughter, Debbie Poydence.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Additional visitation be be held from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene, Homer City, PA where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Charles Lockard officiating.
A lunch will be served following the service at the church.
Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Indiana County, 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA.
