Mary A. Ewing

Mary Alice (McLaughlin) Ewing, 93, of Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2018 in the Communities at Indian Haven, Indiana, PA.
The daughter of John and Susan (Waddle) McLaughlin, she was born July 4, 1924 in Conemaugh Twp., Indiana County, PA.
Mrs. Ewing graduated from Saltsburg High School in 1941 and worked at Federal Laboratories, Tunnelton, for 18 years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Lewisville, Blairsville Chapter #166 Order of the Eastern Star, Blairsville Grange #2012, Indiana Pamona Grange, Pennsylvania State and National Grange and Third Thursday Sewing Club.
Surviving are her daughter, Susan Leonard (Jerome) of Blairsville; two grandsons, Daniel Leonard (Greta) of Westmont and James Leonard (Jalane) of Mt. Pleasant; four great grandchildren, Kinleigh Leonard, Dante, Nadia and Ben Bongianino and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Howard in 2009; son, Wayne in 2000; sister, Ann Dunlap and a brother, Joseph McLaughlin.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Elizabeth A. Arter officiating.
Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Lewisville, PA.
