Robert G. Blystone, Sr.

Robert George Blystone, Sr., 69, of Homer City, PA passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at his home.

The son of Robert C. and Alberta (Stiles) Blystone, he was born March 8, 1949 in Indiana, PA.

He worked for R & P Coal Company.

Robert enjoyed hunting, traveling all over the country, racing and working on antique cars with his special friend, Archie Shoup.

He loved to work with wood and spend time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his companion of 31 years, Cheryl A. Shultz; mother, Alberta Blystone of Blairsville; three children, son, Robert G. Blystone, Jr. (Wendy) of Penn Run; daughter, Cheryl C. Himmel (Daniel) of Carrolltown; son, Greg Blystone (Tammy) of Homer City; three stepchildren, Tabitha Sturgeon (John) of Clymer; Henry W. Shultz (Linda) of Mundys Corner and April Marsh (Wyatt) of Blairsville; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Sandy Davenport (Brett) of New Florence; three brothers, Dave Blystone (Evelyn) of Blairsville; Mark Blystone (Lisa) of Blairsville and Lloyd Blystone of New Florence; special cousin, Jim Donahue (Linda) of Homer City who called him "Mac"; special friend, Archie Shoup (June) and his special dogs, Corkie and Chloe.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Lucas officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, West Wheatfield Twp., PA.
