David E. Chaek

David Ellis Chaek, 65, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at his home.

The son of George C. and Madeline (Nakles) Chaek, he was born February 10, 1953 in Latrobe, PA.

Mr. Chaek worked at FMC, Homer City, for 30 years. He loved his soft serve ice cream business, Chaek’s Window and helped his son with Chaek’s Graphics.

He was a member and past president of the Historical Society of the Blairsville Area and was very active with the Blairsville community, especially Diamond Days.

He also enjoyed fishing when he had the time.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Carol A. (Smith) Chaek whom he married August 5, 1972 and a son, David G. Chaek of Blairsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.

Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
