Robert J. Ammon

Robert John Ammon, 60, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.

The son of Edward W. and Dolores B. (Borbonus) Ammon, he was born December 31, 1957 in Indiana, PA.

Bob was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, VFW Post #5821, Blairsville, Cooperstown Sportsmen’s Club and Kingston Sportsmen’s Club.

He was the owner of Ammon Construction, Blairsville, for 30 years.

He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are his wife, Karen D. (Hill) Ammon whom he married January 2, 2010; mother, Dolores B. Ammon of Blairsville; son, Jacob A. Ammon of Johnstown; stepson, Justin L. Hill (Rachel) of Blairsville; six grandchildren, Alexis Latson, James Latson, Ray Lawson, Isiah Lawson, Davonn Hill and Alona Hill; four brothers and a sister; Michael A. Ammon of Ebensburg; Kathleen M. Cardellino (Harry) of Blairsville; Joseph P. Ammon of Blairsville; Richard P. Ammon of Blairsville and William P. Ammon (friend, Gina Baker) of Blairsville.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2004; sister, Jean M. Reott in 1999 and a nephew, Kolton Asbury.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Prayers of Transfer will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. Monday followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay celebrant.

Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
