Elton J. Smith

Elton James Smith, 59, of Greensburg, PA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

The son of Frank Smith and Janice (Thurman) Salazar, he was born October 22, 1958 in Pecos, Texas.

Elton worked for Pioneer Natural Resources, Irving, TX as an oil field superintendent.

He was a member of the Lions Club and liked golfing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Debra (Barnhart) Smith whom he married March 24, 2001; mother, Janice Salazar and stepfather, Louis Salazar; two sons, Kevin Smith (Jaime) and Kenneth Smith (Hayley); a stepdaughter, Darla Reed; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and a sister, Belinda Karp (Brad).

He was preceded in death by his father.

A private visitation and funeral service with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating was held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.
