Elizabeth L. "Betty" Zedick

Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Petrarca) Zedick, 89, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Amedio J. Petrarca and Phyllis P. Deluca,  she was born August 26, 1928 in Detroit, MI.

Betty was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, Angels of Compassion and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Theresa #562.

She graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1946.

She enjoyed playing cards with her friends every month at Dean’s Diner and was known for her sense of humor and for telling you exactly how things were.

Surviving are a son, John M. Zedick (Sabra); three daughters, Mary Murphy (Coleman), Beth O’Barto and Susan Zedick; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Zedick on August 12, 2009.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, where a Wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Monday. Prayers of Transfer will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. Tuesday followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant.

Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Theresa #562 will recite the rosary in the funeral home 3:00 P.M. Monday.
