Joanne Adele (Sabo) Frenchik, 80, of Blairsville, PA (Brenizer) passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at her home.
The daughter of Anthony Joseph and Jean Edith (Chiesa) Sabo, she was born May 22, 1937 in Brenizer, PA.
Mrs. Frenchik graduated from Derry Township High School with the class of 1955. She was the Food Service Director for the Derry Area School District for 28 years, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Theresa #562 and the Derry Area Retired Employees.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, loved to travel, cooking, baking and reading.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Andrew P. Frenchik whom she married October 19, 1957; two sons, Rick Frenchik (Margie) of Blairsville and Jim Frenchik (Jerry Peyton) of Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Janet Esposito (Tom) of Latrobe; three grandchildren, Mandi Frenchik, Krista Graziani (Chris) and Heath Esposito; a sister, Marie Kenney (Bill) of Blairsville; a brother, John Sabo (Claudia) of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters-in-law, Fran Gruska (Stan) of Blairsville; Bernice Crocker of Loyalhanna and Lorraine Frenchik of Derry and a brother-in-law, Bill Frenchik (June) of Evans City and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers-in-law, Carl Frenchik, Bob Crocker and Lawrence Frenchik (Mildred) and an uncle, Herman “Baby Kay” Chiesa.
As per Joanne’s request, there will be no visitation.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant.
Inurnment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
