Stanley D. Horrell

Stanley Devoe Horrell, 85, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home.

The son of John E. and Matilda M. (McGinity) Horrell, he was born September 22, 1932 in Strangford, PA.

Mr. Horrell was a veteran of the Marine Corps, having served in the Korean War.

He worked at Standard Steel, Latrobe, PA as a millwright for more than 20 years, retiring on June 1, 1994.

He liked to go fishing at his camp and loved going to flea markets.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou (Kahl) Horrell whom he married November 21, 1964; a brother, William E. Horrell (Ann Marie) of Blairsville; two sisters, Marianne Annabell Clark (John) of Blairsville and Yvonne M. Ramsden of Blairsville; a sister-in-law, Barbara K. Culler of Blairsville and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and James.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 P.M Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Military Service will be accorded at 7:30 Wednesday at the funeral home by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.
