Dwight Dunmire

Dwight Dunmire, 75, of Homer City, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home.

The son of Thomas E. and Erma E. (Lawson) Dunmire, he was born December 19, 1941 in Coral, PA.

Dwight worked for Marathon Gas & Oil, Norwalk, Ohio for 25 years, prior to his retirement.

He loved to work around the house and enjoyed baking.

Surviving are his special friend, Julia F. (Channell) Deal; three stepchildren, Nancy McCormick (Mike) of Norwalk, OH; Thomas E. Kenley of Honolulu, HI and Joseph A. Kenley (Denise) of St. Joseph, IL; four brothers, Glenn Dunmire of Blairsville; Floyd Dunmire (Donna) of Rochester Mills; Leonard Dunmire (Twila) of Blairsville and Marlin Dunmire (Connie) of Rochester Mills; four sisters, Mary Ellen Fisher of Black Lick; Alice Conrad of Blairsville; Carol Olechoveski of Jamestown, NY and Shirley Stiffler of Kennewick, WA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois J. (Henry) Kenley Dunmire on May 6, 2010; six brothers, Ralph Sr., Thomas, Harold, Blair, Barney and Kenneth Dunmire and two sisters, Betty Berkstrusser and Helen Conrad.

As per Dwight’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.

Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
