Warren Mabon “Dusty” Reeger, Sr., 85, of Coral, PA passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.
The son of John M. and Ethel M. (Ling) Reeger, he was born July 25, 1931 in Brush Valley, PA. He was the only survivor of triplets
Mr. Reeger worked 41 years as a heavy equipment operator for Penn DOT and worked as a dogcatcher for 30 years in the Homer City area.
He was a veteran of the US Army.
He loved going to the Golden Cup to drink coffee with his friends and playing pinball at Roy’s Arco Gas Station in Homer City. They were his two favorite hangouts. He also like going to various diners in his younger years, playing the lottery and enjoyed going for walks.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Ruth K. (Reid) Reeger whom he married February 25, 1950; a daughter, Diana R. McCachren (Richard) of New Florence; two sons, Roger L. Reeger (Christine) of Hunker and Warren M. Reeger, Jr. (fiancé, Heidi Good) of Coral; nine grandchildren, Richie, Cindy, Thomas, Timothy, Joshua, Jonah, Tabitha, Gabrielle and Jeff; 23 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Loretta “Toots” Gamble of Indiana and a brother, John “Jr.” Reeger of Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dwight, Medis and John Reeger; two sisters, Pearl Grace Reeger and Fern Colgan and a great grandson, Zane McCachren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Luther Chapel Cemetery, Coral, PA.
Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
