Clarence J. "Jim" Miller

Clarence J. “Jim” Miller, 81 of Blairsville, PA (Brush Valley Twp.) passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at his home.

The son of Thomas F. and Mary Ellen (Prettyman) Miller, he was born December 20, 1935 in Robinson, PA.

Jim was a veteran of the US Navy.

Prior to his retirement from Wright Motor Lines, Inc., Armagh, he worked for Dietrich Industries, Inc.

He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing and working on puzzle books.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Letty Lou Ann (Shirley) Miller whom he married July 22, 1955; five children, son, Jim Miller (Joanne) of Blairsville; son, Tom Miller (Mary) of Blairsville; daughter, Cindy Postgate (Ed) of Homer City; daughter, Kim Novella (Lennie) of Blairsville and son, Jake Miller (Renee) of Blairsville; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Kabasta (Rudy) of Gas Center; two brothers, Richard Miller (Debbie) of Blairsville and Jerry “Hop” Stiles of Blairsville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Chuck Miller and four brothers, Eugene, George, Sam and Bob.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Scott D. Hamley officiating.

Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, New Florence, PA.
