Leroy A. Sulkosky, Sr.

Leroy Andrew Sulkosky, Sr., 78, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Zigmund A. and Catherine (Newhouse) Sulkosky, he was born May 11, 1938 in New Alexandria, PA.

Leroy was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, Indiana, PA.

Prior to his retirement in 2000, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Local #66.

He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and he was loved by all of them.

He loved going to his camp in Andover, OH, riding on the pontoon boat and gardening and liked to adopt dogs.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Grace L. (Bruner) Sulkosky whom he married November 26, 1960; four children, Cindy L. Buffone (Perry); Darla Lee Weaver (John); Leroy A. Sulkosky, Jr. (Heidi) and Tresa A. Hibbs (Richard) all of Blairsville; 10 grandchildren, Christie L. Laidacker (Jeremy); Heather Buffone; Katie Buffone; Jamie Kerr (Dan); Jordan Gibson (Garrett); Noah Tarr; Seth Sulkosky; Randy Boyd (Anna); Justin Boyd (Alyssa) and Christopher Hibbs; 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Sulkosky of Derry; Mary Harper (Don) of Brush Valley; Irene Knesh of Latrobe and Wanda Polo (John) of Derry; brother, Zigmund Sulkosky (Wanda) of Blairsville; several nieces and nephews and his precious four footed friend, Baby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother George Sulkosky and a sister, Evelyn Deluca.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Rusty McClurg, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Footed Friends or to the Disabled American Veterans in memory of Leroy.
