Katherine A. Cribbs

Katherine Agnes (Stipcak) Cribbs, 88, of Blairsville, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Excela Hospital in Latrobe.

She was born April 24, 1928 in Palmertown, PA, the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Kubick) Stipcak.  She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral, PA (formerly St. Bonaventure).

Kay had worked at Fours Company, Blairsville, PA, for 15 years as a seamstress before marrying her husband of 56 years, the late James R. Cribbs on August 24, 1957, then she became a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking her favorite nut rolls and lady locks, camping, and attending her granddaughters' activities. Kay had a large collection of Barbie dolls.  She enjoyed the company of her pets Molly and Troubles.

Surviving are two daughters, Marlene K. (Dave) Joyce of Blairsville and Judith A. (Timothy) Ash of Blairsville; son, James M. (Sandra) Cribbs of Blairsville; two granddaughters, Alissa (Doug) McNulty and Amanda Cribbs; brother, Michael Stipcak of Palmertown; sister, Helen Tomko of Blairsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James R. Cribbs in 2014; nine brothers, John Stipcak, Matthew Stipcak, Andy Stipcak, Martin Stipcak, Joseph Stipcak, Anthony Stipcak, Paul Stipcak, George Stipcak, and George Stipcak, Jr.; three sisters, Rose Lunchuck, Anna Farquar, Mary Stipcak.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Prayers of Transfer will take place at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Coral, with Fr. Alan Polczynski as celebrant.

Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
