Theodore T. Joyce

Theodore Thomas Joyce, 76, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport Hospital, McKeesport, PA.

The son of Richard P. and Edith (Rhoades) Joyce, he was born June 12, 1940 in Mount Pleasant, PA.

Mr. Joyce was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Pittsburgh, PA.

He served 25 years in the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant.

While Mr. Joyce was in the military in Panama, he was a member of the Masons, Abou Saad Shriners Panama, was a clown for the Shriners and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He also enjoyed coaching football for little league.

Surviving are two sons, Theodore J. Joyce of Boston, MA and Paul J. Joyce (Jessica) of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Katie and Naia; a brother, James J. Joyce (Irene) of Blairsville and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fr. Brice Joyce, Richard Joyce and David Joyce and three sisters, Frances Conforti; Sister M. Scholastica and Patricia Joyce.

The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.

Parting Prayers will be held at 11:15 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 P.M. in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay at celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.

Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
