Dale R. "Sam" Mcintire

Dale Robert “Sam” McIntire, 63 of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home. After the death of the love of his life, Wanda, on October 7, 2016, Sam lost his will to live.

The son of Robert and Irene (Bernard) McIntire, he was born September 20, 1953 in Latrobe, PA.

Sam was a lifelong truck driver with various trucking companies and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1488, Blairsville.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandson’s baseball games. He also liked watching the Steelers and NASCAR on TV, enjoyed being on a bowling league, and his buddy, Boo.

Surviving are his children, Jill Capitosti (Gregg) of Mattoon, Ill; Samual McIntire (Joy) of Blairsville and Todd Shedlock (fianceé, Stacey Drewrey) of Panama City, FL; stepdaughter, Beth Alsippi of Homer City; four grandchildren, Ashley, Sammy, Andrew and Ben; a great grandson, Kaiden; five stepgrandchildren; a brother, Terry McIntire of Blairsville; two sisters, Barbara Bruner of Blairsville and Ruth Ann Zadravec (Frank) of Blairsville; a brother-in-law, Kevin Barnett (Mary) of Blairsville and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda L. (Barnett) McIntire in 2016 and a brother, Butch McIntire.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Ronnie C. Morris, Sr. officiating.
