Frank Anthony Mase, Jr. 84, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA.
The son of Frank A. Mase, Sr. and Kunsie (Darazio) Mase, he was born June 17, 1932 in Latrobe, PA.
Frank was a very active member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, was very active in the Democratic Party of Westmoreland County and a member of the New Derry Sportsmen’s Club.
He worked in construction and was a former Deputy Sheriff in Westmoreland County.
He loved playing bocce, the Italian hand game morra and being with the old-timers baseball league especially those who played on Dino’s team.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah L. Hudak and Pamela J. Glance, both of Blairsville; two grandchildren, Frank Diana and Cody Glance; two great grandchildren, Vincent Diana and Clint Glance; two brothers, Lawrence L. Mase of Kittanning and Ronald R. Mase of Denver, CO; a sister, Inez Waldron of Mansfield, TX and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Winifred (Kelly) Mase in 2000; a brother Joseph Mase and four sisters, Christina Torockio, Marie Ponderendolph, Julia Kish and Dale Klesyk.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Monday. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:15 A.M. Tuesday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant.
Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
