Joseph Edward Fircetz, 72, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home.
The son of Joseph E. Fircetz and Anna (Matrunic) Fircetz, he was born April 3, 1944 in Wilpen, PA.
Mr. Fircetz worked in construction and was a veteran of the Army.
He loved spending time with his family, grilling, horse racing and dog racing.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy M. (Davis) Fircetz whom he married May 3, 1974; seven children, Edward Fircetz (Beth) of Bristow, VA; Ramona Ansel (Clifford Jr.) of Pleasant Unity; Tony Sleasman of Blairsville; James Sleasman of Pittsburgh; Sherry Sleasman of Black Lick; Joseph Sleasman (Staci) of Blairsville and Vince Sleasman (Mindy) of Black Lick; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Michael Fircetz (Barb) of Carrollton, VA and a sister, Patricia Miller (Bob) of St. Petersburg, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John; a son, Domer Sleasman and a granddaughter, Gabrielle Sleasman.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Schwender officiating.
Interment will be in Luther Chapel Cemetery, Coral, PA.
Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407 .
