Ann Louise Little

May 25, 1938 — December 18, 2016

Ann Louise Little, nee’ Ault, 78, of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, passed on to be with the Lord, on Sunday, December 18, 2016.  Ann was born May 25, 1938, in Derry, Pennsylvania, to Dorothy (Allison) Ault and Clarence Herbert Ault, both deceased.  Ann is survived by a sister Yvonne Tisa, of New Jersey; and brothers, Michael (Jill) and Timothy, of Armagh, Pennsylvania.

On December 24, 1956, six months after graduating from United High School, Ann wed Ronald Mack Little (surviving), the love of her life since she was in eighth grade, in Armagh, at the United Methodist Church, after he returned from basic training for the Army.  Together, the pair built a house in Brush Valley, and brought up two beloved, adored children, Ronna Lee Little (Aikins) and Bradley Quintin Little, who, along with their spouses David and Yvonne, respectively, all survive Ann. In 1988, Ann and Ron moved to Blairsville, and created a beautiful, welcoming home for family and friends to visit.  Ann loved their home in Blairsville, and most importantly, being with her husband more than anything in the world.

Also surviving Ann, or Mimi to her grandchildren, are:  Katie Monsour (Geoff); and Abigail and Quintin Little, all of Blairsville.  Ann loved her grandchildren dearly, and lavished them with love, and more preciously, and all too short, time.

Additionally, Ann is survived by several nieces and nephews, and friends.

Prior to working as a district sales manager for Avon Products for 26 years, before retiring in 1999, Ann sold appliances at Sears and cookware for Mr. Bell; anyone Ann met was made more beautiful for knowing her, whether inside or out.  During her career and in her retirement, Ann enjoyed traveling with her husband, children, and grandchildren; sharing an artful living space, doing word search puzzles, reading the Reader’s Digest, and spending time with family.

Ann was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Blairsville, and could be found there nearly every Sunday morning; Ann enjoyed listening to the Word of the Lord and walked closely with God. Though Ann was afflicted with dementia in her latter years, Ann could be spotted with her daughter and husband in local establishments filling people with cheer and memories of a time bygone, particularly anecdotes of her dear German shepherd, Duchess, and moreover, her beloved husband of 59 years, Ronnie, and their love-filled, outstanding model marriage.

Ann’s zestful spirit attracted everyone she ever encountered, and time spent with Ann could be likened to standing in the sunshine: bright, happy, and beautiful.  Undoubtedly, Ann’s contagious smile is beaming from Heaven at all whom she loved.  The physical world is left darker without the candle that was Ann.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A celebration of Ann’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the United Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.

Interment will be in Armagh Cemetery, Armagh, PA
