John D. Fatino

John Dean Fatino, 82 of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his home.

The son of John and LaVerna (Thomas) Fatino, he was born October 10, 1934 in Kansas City, MO.

John was a veteran of the Marine Corp. having served during the Korean War.

He worked as a chef for 35 years in Missouri, Japan, Hawaii, California and Texas. John worked as a chef from 1978 to 1983 at Arrowhead Club in the stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs.

He was inducted into the American Academy of Chefs in 1996 and was an avid writer known as “Grandpa Chef”.

Surviving are six children, Arthur “Rocky” Fatino (Brenda) of Blairsville; Henry Kevin Fatino (Robin); John Fatino, II (Rosemary); Ann Deana Fatino; Dominico Pasquale Fatino (Tina) and Frank Anthony Fatino (Robin) all of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a sister Ronna Keck (BK) of Leewood, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas C. Fatino and a sister, Karen Putman.

As per John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service.
