Ruth E. Ferrier

Ruth Eileen (Waddel) Ferrier, 89, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Robert and Elizabeth A. (Beers) Waddel, she was born March 12, 1927 in Coalport, PA.

Mrs. Ferrier lived most of her life in Blairsville and was a member of the Crossroads Community Church, Blairsville.

Surviving are three children, Robert (Nancy) Ferrier of Greensburg; Edward Ferrier of Blairsville and Judy (John) Kuzminsky of Blairsville; seven grandchildren, Christopher Elliott, Eric Elliott, Brandi Ferry, Lori Anne Ferrier, Justin Ferrier, Greg Ferrier and Derek Ferrier; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer A. Ferrier in 1975; a daughter, Joyce Gunder in 2000; two brothers, Ronald and Earl; two sisters, Shirley Waddel and Lois Whitesell and a step-great grandson, Ayrton Platt.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Crossroads Community Church, 272 S. Stewart St., Blairsville, with Pastor Rusty McClurg officiating.

Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
