Joanne Cribbs

Joanne (Powell) Cribbs, 79, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

The daughter of William C. and Vernie (Hileman) Powell, she was born February 5, 1937 in Blairsville, PA,

Mrs. Cribbs enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and reading.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Roy F. Cribbs whom she married June 16, 1956; three children, Cindy Coleman (Mark) of Brush Valley; Randy Cribbs (Carmen) of Virginia Beach, VA and Heather Beard (Paul) of Delmont; two granddaughters, Courtney Coleman-Kopanke and Alexis Beard; a special niece, Lois Ann Perillo of Avalon and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Powell and four sisters, Helen Calhoun, Lois DeSalle, Ruth Richards and Eileen Durika.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. James Sunseri officiating.

Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.
