Evelyn E. Palmer

Evelyn Erma “Dovi” (Markel) Palmer, 84, of Latrobe, PA, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Monday night, April 4, 2016 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA.

The daughter of Lawrence W. and Bessie L. (Barto) Markel, she was born in Bradley Junction, PA on March 2, 1932.

She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. “Sam” Palmer of 56 years in 2008.

Surviving are her two sons, Sam F. Palmer and his son, Eric of Aultman and Jeff M. Palmer and his girlfriend, Colleen Harris of Latrobe; Jeff’s son, Cody of Derry and daughter, Nikki and her fiancé, Spencer of Herminie; two daughters, Susan J. Palmer and Debbie E. Naugle, both at home, in Latrobe; Debbie’s daughter, Melissa E. Sabella-Menoher and her son, Devin N. and daughter, Haleigh M. Sabella, all of Latrobe; Debbie’s boyfriend, Bob Remper of Tarentum; a special niece, Suzi Furey and her husband, Jeff of Josephine; also surviving is her brother, Harry E. Markel and wife, Grace; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Pividori, Violet Laney, Helen Markel, Vi and Virginia Palmer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; five sisters, Ethel and Emma Winkleman, Lillian Shaffer, Nancy Kephart and Marie Charles and six brothers, Ralph, John, Frank, George, Harvey and Raymond Markel.

As per Evelyn’s wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service.
