Stephen C. Stoklosa, Jr.

Stephen C. Stoklosa, Jr., 70, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at his home.

The son of Stephen C. Stoklosa, Sr. and Catherine (Palgutta) Stoklosa, he was born June 1, 1945 in McKeesport, PA.

Steve was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, BPOE #406, Blairsville, and a former member of the Blairsville Municipal Authority.

He graduated from Blairsville High School in 1963 and from Clarion State University in 1967 with Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. He taught for Homer Center School District until his retirement in 1992.

He was very involved with the activities of his children, his grandchildren were a very important part of his life and he was a history buff.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Patricia L. (Swalga) Stoklosa whom he married August 9, 1969; two daughters, Stacie Potts (Timothy) of Blairsville and Jacqueline R. Stoklosa of Blairsville; a son, Richard M. Stoklosa (Sarah) of Orangeville; stepson, Robert Ponponi (Emily) of Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Tyler Potts, Olivia Potts, Emily Stoklosa, Julia Potts, Sofia Ponponi, Ellie Kate Stoklosa and Lia Ponponi; two brothers, Ted Stoklosa (Judy) of Greensburg and David Stoklosa (Betsy) of New Kensington; a sister, Nikki Craig (Bob) of Marion Center and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Stoklosa.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, where a Wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay officiating.

Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.

Elks services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M.
