Duane L. Eaton

Duane L. “Slim” Eaton, 80, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.

The son of Willard K. and Rethal (Strode) Eaton, he was born November 19, 1935 in Denver, CO.

Mr. Eaton was a veteran of the US Army and prior to his retirement, he worked for Perfetti Trucking, Blairsville.

He was an avid reader of western novels and like to study railroad history.

Surviving is a special friend, John A. Perfetti of Lucernemines, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.

Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.

Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
