Emil Stephen Grejtak, 87, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Lynn Haven Personal Care, Black Lick, PA.
The son of Stephen and Anna (Sromko) Grejtak, he was born February 14, 1929 in Bradenville, PA.
Mr. Grejtak was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, member of Labors International Union of North America #1451 since 1954 and the National Rifle Association.
He worked 32 years for Mellon-Stuart Co., Pittsburgh.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved target shooting and enjoyed working in his garden.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Martha May (Novak) Grejtak whom he married August 15, 1950; two sons, Ronald E. Grejtak (Jan) of Fish Kill, NY and Kevin M. Grejtak (Diane) of Blairsville and a daughter, Karen L. Timko (Mark) of Coral; 10 grandchildren, David Grejtak, Katy Grejtak, Stacy Grejtak, Daniel Grejtak, Mark Grejtak, Julie Grejtak, Carrie Timko, Cristie Timko, Mark Timko Jr. and Kelly Timko; one great-grandchild, Myla Maggio; two brothers, Matthew Grejtak (Annette) of Tucson, AZ and Carl Grejtak (Charlotte) of Latrobe and a sister, Evelyn DeMarines (Albert) of Black Lick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bart; a sister, Mary Ann Zwipf and two infant sisters, Theresa and Beatrice.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, where a Wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Sunday.
Prayers of Transfer will be said at 9:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant.
Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
