Geneva G. Shabella

Geneva G. (Bailey) Shabella, 90, of Indiana, PA, formerly of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Alijah and Geneva (Briegle) Bailey, she was born November 20, 1925 in Smithton, PA.

Mrs. Shabella was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, and a former member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Theresa #562.

She loved to cook, bake and go shopping.

Surviving are a son, Albert W. Creighton, Jr. (Robin) of Shelocta; two stepdaughters, Nancy (Shabella) Bacci of Elizabethtown and Patricia (Shabella) Hill of Chesterton, IN; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Johnson of Blairsville and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Albert W. Creighton, Sr.; second husband, John T. Shabella; two sisters, Cecelia Knopsnyder and Viola McCune and a brother, Alijah Bailey.

As per Mrs. Shabella’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA at a later date.

Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
