Joseph Theodore Mocek, 61, of Parkersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his home. The son of Theodore and Margaret A. (Hineman) Mocek, he was born April 14, 1954 in Punxsutawney, PA. Mr. Mocek was a maintenance worker for Horizon Asset Management and had formerly worked for Dow Chemical Company. Surviving are his mother, Margaret A. "Peggy" Mocek of Black Lick; three sons, Thomas Mocek (Nicole) of Hamilton, OH; Alexander Mocek of Virginia Beach, VA and Theodore Mocek of Parkersburg, WV; one granddaughter, Natalee Mocek; one brother, Steve Mocek (Kimberly) of Black Lick and one sister, Susan Platt (Bill) of Blairsville, PA. He was preceded in death by his father in 2002 and a brother, Thomas Mocek in 1968. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a funeral service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Sunday with Pastor David Kimball officiating. Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney, PA.
