Isabell R. Vatter

Isabell Ruth (Mitchell) Vatter, 82, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA. The daughter of A. Clair and Ella G. (Bowers) Mitchell, she was born January 25, 1933 in Penn Hills, PA. Mrs. Vatter was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, attended Bible Study at the church, member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Horseless Carriage Club of America, Pierce Arrow Society, Red Hat Society and was active in Action for Animals. Surviving are her husband, Charles J. Vatter whom she married August 8, 1964; a daughter, Lee Ann Miller (Ben) of Indiana; two grandchildren, Amy Lee Williams and Katy Ann Miller; two great grandchildren, Lucy Lu and Lila Grace; a brother, Herbert Mitchell of Penn Hills and her pet cat, Awesome. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Gertrude Abel and two brothers, Robert and Walter Mitchell. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. John McMannus officiating.
