Joanne M. Sobota, 61, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. The daughter of Stephen and Doris M. (Delcoco) Sobota, she was born December 15, 1953 in Latrobe, PA. Joanne was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville. She graduated from Blairsville High School and from Indiana University of PA. Joanne worked for Westinghouse Electric Company, Cranberry Twp., PA. Surviving are her mother, Doris M. Sobota of Blairsville; her pet dog, Tammy; aunt, Rose Ann Delcoco of Blairsville, cousin, Loisanne Conn of Ligonier and numerous other cousins and good friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen in 1999. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Thursday. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:15 A.M. Friday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Father Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant. Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
