Kaye Darold Jacobson, 89, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA. The son of Harry M. and Nellie M. (Olson) Jacobson, he was born April 16, 1925 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Mr. Jacobson moved to Blairsville in 1987. He attended the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, and the Chestnut Hills Social Center. He was a World War II Navy veteran and retired in 1985 from Malleable Iron Range Co. in Wisconsin. Surviving are a son, Thomas M. Jacobson of Blairsville and a daughter, Karleen Elder and her husband, Bruce of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Holly Elder Lehman and Chad D. Elder and a great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elrene J. (Irvine) Jacobson on April 1, 2002 and a brother, Merlin. As per Kaye's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hebron Lutheran Church, 125 N. Liberty St., Blairsville, PA 15717
