Elinor Marie (Molnar) Dettorre, 85, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA. The daughter of Joseph P. Molnar, Sr. and Mary (Sperling) Molnar, she was born June 15, 1929 in Blairsville, PA. Mrs. Dettorre lived her entire life in Blairsville. She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1947 and from Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She worked at Indiana Hospital as a registered nurse for 20 years, retiring in 1990. Following her retirement, she worked for Bernard C. Scherer, M.D., Blairsville, for a number of years. She was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, and Angels of Compassion. Mrs. Dettorre loved to attend all of her children's and grandchildren's athletic events and enjoyed traveling with her friends. Surviving are three children, Albert J. Dettorre, Jr. (Lujean) of Blairsville; Susan M. Frycklund (David) of Indiana and Dr. Michael D. Dettorre (Jeanne) of Hummelstown; eight grandchildren, Jacki Dettorre, Nick Dettorre, Erik Frycklund, Brian Frycklund, Bradley Frycklund. Carleigh Dettorre, Benjamin Dettorre and Kari Dettorre; two great grandchildren, Dylan Frycklund and Georgia Frycklund; and a sister, Martha J. Molnar of Monroeville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert J. Dettorre, Sr. in 1990 and a brother, Joseph P. Molnar, Jr. in 2003. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant. Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
