Glenn Monroe McKee, 92, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Hospice of the Valley, Coronado Home, Phoenix, AZ. The son of David Russell and Lyda C. (Cole) McKee, he was born November 15, 1921 in Blairsville, PA. Mr. McKee graduated from Blairsville High School in 1939. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, Blairsville, and member of Indiana VFW Post #1989. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran having served in the Air Force and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He worked as a Post Master, retiring in 1976, from the Scottdale post office. Surviving are his daughter, Susan Stake (James) of Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters, Alyssa Baginski and Amy Michalenko and a great grandson, Adler J. Michalenko. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty L. (Fulmer) McKee on December 12, 2012; three brothers, Ralph, Waldo and Marvin McKee and a sister, Genevieve Decker. A private funeral service with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating will be held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
