Samuel Paul Cohen, 60, of Wilkinsburg, PA passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his home. The son of Samuel Cohen M.D. and Margaret A. (Brantlinger) Cohen, he was born March 11, 1954 in Latrobe, PA. Paul graduated from Blairsville High School in 1972 and from the University of Michigan in 1976 with a B.S. in microbiology. He enjoyed playing the guitar, golfing, photography, and Pittsburgh sports. Surviving are a son, Gabriel S. Cohen of Jersey City, NJ and a daughter, Claire E. Cohen of Sidney, Australia and two sisters, Judy Sferro (Bill) of Manassas, VA and Sally Chamberlain (Bob) of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.
