Robert R. "Bob" Meidinger, 80, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at his home. The son of John and Jennie (Rager) Meidinger, he was born March 14, 1934 in Peanut, PA. Bob attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, member of Acacia Lodge #355 F & AM, Blairsville, International Union of Operating Engineers #66 and the National Rifle Association. He was a veteran of the Army and was a self-employed master mechanic having worked for the 12th Regional Equipment Center and for Barkley Development. He loved trap shooting, winning numerous local, state and national competitions and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. Bob's life was centered around his family Surviving are his wife of 62 years, E. Virginia (Mologne) Meidinger whom he married June 14, 1952; two daughters, R. Elaine Anderson and her husband, Rick of Indiana and Lisa Ann Gamble and her husband, Vince of Shelocta; a son-in-law, Bill Bouch Jr. of Blairsville; three grandchildren, Shane Robert Bouch, Lexi Lynn Gamble and Claire Elaine Gamble and a step-granddaughter, Cheryl Ann Eckert. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lori Lynn Bouch in 1994; four brothers, Gerald, Frederick, Regis and Wayne and five sisters, Martha Caesar, Alberta Bollinger, Emily Meidinger, Grace Vaccare and Frances Petrarca. As per Bob's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 135 E. Burrell St., Blairsville, PA with Rev. John McMannus officiating. Interment in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, will be private. Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701 or to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 135 E. Burrell St., Blairsville, PA 15717 "If it ran once, I can make it run again."
