Margaret "Peg" (Snell) McMannus, 89, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the home of her son. The daughter of Harry and Grace (Blue) Snell, she was born February 1, 1925 in Quaker City, Ohio. Mrs. McMannus was a member of the Pentecostal Church, Brave, PA (Greene Co.) and attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville. Prior to working at Vale Tech in Chambersburg, retiring in April 1988 as a supervisor, she worked at Torrance State Hospital. She enjoyed working in her yard. Surviving are a son, The Rev. John McMannus (Judy) of Blairsville and a daughter, Mary Lee Reahard (William) of McClellandtown; four grandchildren, Melissa Casper, Wendy Michel, Mary Louise Fox and Joseph R. McMannus; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert E. McMannus Jr. on February 16, 2004; three brothers, Ted, Melburn and Glen and four sisters, Harriett Staudt, Opal Clark, Helen Kent and Jean Higgenbotham. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home with her son, Rev. John McMannus officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
