William Frederick "Fred" Lively, Sr., 90, of Blairsville, PA (Brenizer) went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his home. The son of William T. and Olive Mae (Denison) Lively, he was born June 17, 1924 in Indiana, PA. Fred was a member of the Harvest Assembly Church, Derry, Teamsters Union Local #110 and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. An avid sportsman, he was a hunting and firearms enthusiast. He retired in 1988 as a mechanic for Nickels Bakery in Blairsville. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia L. (Hill) Lively whom he married September 29, 1962; and the following children, Karen Hummel (John) of Blairsville; William F. Lively Jr. of Blairsville; Susan Hood (Ivan) of New Florence; Bryan Houser (Victoria) of Blairsville and Chuck Houser (Regan) of Indiana; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a young daughter, Janet Lively and an infant brother, Merle. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Shawn Lyons officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
