Gertrude G. "Trudy" (Denisiuk) Tatone Ortega, 87, of Mesa, AZ passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 in Hospice of Arizona Greenfield House, Mesa, AZ. The daughter of Walter and Bertha (Benki) Denisiuk, she was born March 16, 1927 in Brenizer, PA. Mrs. Ortega was of the catholic faith. She had worked for Paragon, Toyad, Fore's Sewing Factory, Steiner's Sewing Factory, Dean's Diner and FMC before moving to Arizona and working for Motorola for 33 years, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed cooking, art and reading. Surviving are three sons, Terry Tatone of Blairsville; Joseph Tatone of Garner, NC and Michael Tatone (Denise) of Blairsville; a daughter, Bonita "Bonnie" Rager (Robert) of Palm Harbor, FL; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a sister, Stella Horn (Bill) of Blairsville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Ortega; four brothers, Joseph, Walter, Alvin and John Denisiuk and a sister, Helen Talmage. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Blessing Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay officiating. Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
