Stella LaRue (Loring) Harper Farabaugh, 77, of Derry, PA passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 in the Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA. The daughter of Clair and Marie (Fisher) Loring, she was born August 4, 1936 in Palmerton, PA. Mrs. Farabaugh was a member of the Black Lick United Methodist Church, BPOE #406 Ladies Auxiliary, Mountain View Squares and the Fiery Red Hats of Blairsville. She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1954 and from Westmoreland County Community College with her registered nurse's degree in 1992. She worked at Torrance State Hospital for 29 years, retiring in 1997. Surviving are her husband, William J. Farabaugh whom she married April 29, 1995; three sons, Stan "Rocky" Harper (Laura) of Blairsville; Bret Harper (Chrissy) of New Alexandria and Rick Harper (Cherie) of Blairsville; two daughters, Sharon Noga of Coral and Candy Ross (David) of Blairsville; one stepson, Tom Farabaugh of Pittsburgh and one stepdaughter, Debbie Farabaugh of Minneapolis, MN; 12 grandchildren, Josh Harteis, Jason Harteis, Eric Noga, Tony Ross, Jon Ross, Casey Harper, Tom Harper, Jessica Harper, Bailey Walters, Ashley Farabaugh, Adin Farabaugh and Nathan Farabaugh; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Loring (Patricia) of Library; three sisters, Nellie Culbertson of Monroeville; Aeda Hill of Chokio, MN and Jean Shepherd (Gary) of Blairsville. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clair Loring and two sisters, Helen Irwin and Dorothy Lane. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Brett M. Dinger officiating.
