Doris Mae (Albaugh) Richards, 88, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA The daughter of Harry and Lydia K. (Anderson) Albaugh, she was born December 15, 1925 in Derry Twp., PA. Mrs. Richards was of the protestant faith and was a member of BPOE #406 Ladies Auxiliary, Blairsville. She graduated from Derry Township High School in 1944 and was employed by Adelphia Cable, Blairsville, retiring in 1987. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mr. & Mrs. Richards were married on August 23, 1946 and would have celebrated their 68th anniversary this year. Surviving are her husband, Donald J. "Doc" Richards; two daughters, Cathy Smith and her husband, Kenneth of Blairsville and Patti Ann Cribbs and her husband, Paul of Blairsville; four grandchildren, K. Rick Smith and his wife, Holly; Lori Tavella and her husband, Domenic; Ryan Cribbs and his wife, Kristin and Megan Conrad and her husband, Keith; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Harry, Howard, Charles, Carl, Donald and William Albaugh and a sister, Eleanor Lyons. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
