Phillip David Reiss, 50, of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. The son of Phillip M. and Ruth Emma (Allen) Reiss, he was born August 6, 1963 in Pittsburgh, PA. Phillip graduated from Plum High School in 1981 and was employed as a project manager for Scalise Industries. He was a member of the IBEW Local #5, Pittsburgh. Phillip enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and golfing with his friends at work. Surviving are his wife, Carlene A. (Lyle) Reiss whom he married on September 1, 1984; three children, Phillip Reiss Jr. and his fiancée, Kristen Downing of Cranberry Twp.; Katy L. Holloway and her husband, Carl of Little Rock, AR and Carrie Reiss and her friend, Jack Erath of the North Hills; his parents, Phillip and Ruth Reiss of Kittanning; a sister, Amy Reiss of Oakmont; two brothers, David Reiss and his wife, Leslie of Imperial and Ed Reiss of Plum; nieces and nephews, Nick Scuccimarri, Ian and Victoria Michaels and Jessica and Alexa Crider. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
