Jesse Eugene McGraw, Sr., 93, of Latrobe, PA, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA. The son of William R. and Margaret S. (McNaulty) McGraw, he was born June 25, 1920 in Lockport Station, Westmoreland Co., PA. Jesse was a member of Grace Bible Church, Bradenville. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army and worked for Conrail as an engineer for 41 years, retiring in 1981. Jesse could be seen in his younger years walking all over Blairsville. Surviving are his wife of almost 72 years, Reafa G. (McClune) McGraw whom he married on June 17, 1942; a son, Jesse E. McGraw, Jr. and his wife, Dolores of Derry; two daughters, Margaret Ann McGuire and her husband, Patrick of Torrance and Virginia Libengood and her husband, Edgar of Lake Worth, FL; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, John A. McGraw; a granddaughter, Melissa Jean McGuire; two brothers, James and Elvin and two sisters, Betty Lichtenfels and Esther Weaver. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Losier officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
