Joseph Anthony Litvik, 67, of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA. The son of Paul and Agnes (Lisicky) Litvik, he was born December 23, 1946 in Tintown, PA (Derry Twp.) Joe was of the catholic faith and was a member of the Vintondale VFW Post 5211. He graduated from Derry Area High School in 1964 and was a veteran of the Army. Prior to his retirement on December 8, 2006, he worked for Latrobe Steel (Timken) for 38 years. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, gardening, woodworking and walking his dog Cooper. Surviving are two children; a son, Jason D. Litvik of Blairsville and a daughter, Carly A. Litvik of Citrus Heights, CA; partner, Tannette Rummel of New Florence; a sister, Catherine Beighley (William) of Blairsville and a brother, Kenneth Litvik (Carol) of Blairsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Karin (Koppehele) Litvik on December 29, 1997. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A blessing service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay officiating. Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA. Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
