Pearl Mae (Duncan) Stitt, 88, of Indiana, PA formerly of Black Lick, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 in the Communities at Indian Haven, Indiana, PA. A daughter of Arthur and Vernie (Howard) Duncan, she was born June 20, 1925 in Black Lick. The most important part of her life was spending time with her family and with her sisters. Surviving are two sons, James E. Stitt of Blairsville and Ralph E. Stitt (Judy) of Indiana; six grandchildren, Michael, Jerry, Rick, Jeremy and Aaron Stitt and Josh Palmer; eight great grandchildren; five sisters, Ethel Bailey of New Florence; Sally Buzzinotti (Jim) of Black Lick; Mary Ellen Miller of Black Lick; Nora Jean Krouse of Hillsdale and Velma Deemer of Hillsdale and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James A. Stitt in 1984; three brothers, Arthur, Pete and Clarence and a sister, Lilly Duncan. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.
