Anna Charlotte (Horner) Cribbs, 81, of Saltsburg, PA passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 in the Communities at Indian Haven, Indiana, PA. The daughter of James and Pearl (Baird) Horner, she was born February 4, 1932 in Conemaugh Twp., PA. Mrs. Cribbs was a member of the Saltsburg Presbyterian Church and was a member of the former Blairsville Grange #2012. She loved to cook and bake pies and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, square dancing and gardening. She worked 10 years at the Indiana Regional Medical Center as a LPN, retiring in 1990. Surviving are four children, a daughter, Charlotte A. Farley (Frank) of Lewistown, MT; three sons, John D. Cribbs (Georgienne) of Saltsburg; David L. Cribbs (Diana) of New Alexandria and Michael R. Cribbs (Cindy) of Saltsburg; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; three sisters, Esther McConnell (James) of Blairsville; Bertha Kline of Indiana; Judy Emery of Blairsville and a brother, Bill Horner (Donna) of Bolivar and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John A. Cribbs Jr. in 2000; a granddaughter, Natalie Cribbs; two sisters, Ruth Howard and Martha Aikens and a brother Ed Horner. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg, PA. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the VNA Hospice.
