William Thompson Bolen, 87, of Clarksburg, PA passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA. The son of Harry T. and Ruby Belle (Shields) Bolen, he was born January 14, 1927 In Black Lick Twp., PA. Mr. Bolen lived all of his life in the Clarksburg area and enjoyed working and living on the family farm. He worked as a security guard for Derry Westinghouse, retiring in 1986. Surviving are two brothers, Ronald Bolen of Derry and Melvin Bolen of Blairsville; sister, Carrie Spuddy (Bill) of Pitcairn and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harland, Archie and Robert Bolen and two sisters, Gladys Coffman and Nellie Bolen. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Whipple officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Lewisville, PA.
