Catherine Carol (Neely) Hedges, 80, of New Florence, PA passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 in the Communities at Indian Haven, Indiana, PA. The daughter of Elmer and Louise E. (Lieapold) Neely, she was born December 6, 1933 in Johnstown, PA. Mrs. Hedges worked as a secretary for Neely's Plumbing and Electrical, Armagh, and also worked as a custodian for United High School. She was a member of the New Florence United Methodist Church and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Johnstown, PA. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Calvin Raymond Hedges whom she married June 6, 1956; two sons, Raymond Jeffrey Hedges (Mary) of New Florence and David N. Hedges (Debbi) of Export; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a sister, Janie Rager of Powhatan, VA She was preceded in death by her parents. As per Catherine's wishes there will be no visitation or memorial service. Interment in Bethel Cemetery, Clyde, will be private. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA entrusted with the arrangements.
