Holly Sloan George, 36, of Derry, PA passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. A daughter of Robert C. George, Jr. and Sandra M. (Sloan) George, she was born July 14, 1977 in Indiana, PA. Holly graduated from Derry Area High School in 1995 and attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Derry. She was a member and past honored queen of the former International Order of Job's Daughters, Bethel #6, Blairsville. Surviving are her parents, Robert C. George, Jr. and Sandra (Sloan) George of Blairsville; four daughters, Savanah Embry, Sierra Embry, Sasha Whitfield and Selena Whitfield all of Derry; two sisters, Sherry Hallow (Mike) of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Brandy Gardner (Greg) of Martinsburg, West Virginia; maternal grandmother, Virginia Sloan of Blairsville; paternal grandmother, Bessie George of Blairsville; mother-in-law, Eleanor Embry of Indiana and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Embry; maternal grandfather, Bud Sloan; paternal grandfather, Robert C. George, Sr.; brother, Robert C. George, III and father-in-law, Wallace Embry. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
